On this site you can experience an online complementary experiment to my graduation piece called 'Reflective mechanism'.
'Reflective mechanism' is part of experiments series which were done during the studies at ArtScience (ma) Interfaculty, Royal Academy of Art and Royal Conservatoire of The Hague, 2013 – 2015.
My work experiments with the audience’s physical and mental reflection. In these experiments, the audience purely observes. I'm not interested in breaking the boundaries between the piece and the audience. In fact, I want to emphasize it. I'm more interested in engaging them to concentrate and fully dedicate their time to themselves and to the piece. My aim is to have viewers in individual and collective experiences confront themselves with the image of their past and present at the same time. It's about reacting on thoughts and previous experiences through the reflection of audience's eyes, the eyes that experience a moment which is gone. In my work I use narration, body movement or video projection, which I investigate in tandem with the concept of the mind as a space for art.
